My terrible bad, people!!!
Am sorry and discuss away (and I'm off to watch that tape).

Okay, just did. So, not that much Josef, but what there was, wow! I liked the first one for the fun factor with the undertones I didn't expect. I didn't expect them, because this show has a tendency to drop things and never mention them again. So I was pleasantly surprised by the whole "Dad"/"Don't call me that!" convo. I hoped they'd revisit that. They did, and while it was light-hearted, it was clear it's a loaded issue, for Josef in particular, because he didn't find Mick's whole "step-sire" shtick all that funny. Though I must say, "step-sire" was inspired! LOL. Also, Mick sailing by the lesson Josef was trying to impart and getting all impressed with the whole "Jean Harlow" thing. I thought it was funny. (And just how many famous actresses did Josef sleep with? Harlow, Garbo... Or is he just making it up and there's no one still alive to contradict? LOL). Yeah, the first scene was cute. The second Josef scene was way more than that. The whole Beth thing was many things. It surprised me and I don't often get surprised by the show. I'm amazed they went there. Not with Josef, obviously, but with Beth. Because what she did amounts to putting a hit on a human being. Granted, a barely-human being whom no one will miss, but still. It's crossing an major line and justifying it as protection of Mick might work for Josef, whose priorities and moral code are his own, but I am wondering about Beth. Because sheltering Mick and returning favors are all good reasons, but all they are in the end are simply self-justifications. And the fact remains: it was murder and she ordered it. And what I really loved about that whole "we are not really saying it but we both know what we are talking about" exchange with Josef was that it was HE who felt some sort of pangs of uncertainty (I thought Jason played it beautifully), not because he had a moment's concern about some paparazzo creep, but because he was worried about Beth crossing a pretty major line. I'll have more thoughts later, once I process it all.
