*I only watch this show because Jason is on it and the only direction I care about is Josef's story being told.

Hear, hear! As do a lot of us.

You know, JenniferH and I talked about it when we first heard the news. I was worried about the screentime being taken away from Josef. She was worried more about the attention. I have never watched Brothers and Sisters and never even heard of Eric Winter before this. I am also one of those who don't usually go for the conventionally pretty boys, and EW's looks (or what we have seen of his acting so far) does nothing for me. I don't think he's bad, I just didn't notice him in any particular way. Jennifer said that EW could potentially become very popular on the show and be promoted more than JD and get better material. But I think that it's more of a concern for Mick/AO'L rather than Josef/Jason. They are setting Talbot up as Mick's romantic rival. His screentime and storylines, as well as the inevitable side-by-side comparison, would be with Mick/AO'L. And given the rabid Mick/Beth following, it's hard to imagine many people rooting for Talbot. Then again, one never knows. The way Jennifer described him, I was expecting to be impressed. And I wasn't. Of course, I'm not typical. I am also not that impressed with AO'L (though I do think he is much better now, and reasonably speaking, that could be because of the material getting a bit better and giving him, as well as everyone else, more to work with ). It is possible EW might become all popular on the show. And be given many storylines. And take up all the attention. But I hope to goodness this doesn't happen. I won't begrudge him his share of plotlines, but he is there to be an obstacle to the main couple, and as such, his capacity is limited.

All this long ranting is to say that, as long as he doesn't take away the time and too much of the spotlight from Josef/JD, I don't mind the guy. LOL.
