Yes, I'm pissed off! Several videos have been posted on Youtube against Scientology.Worst of all, they put Jason and his father (among many others) in the tags. Shit 1 Shit 2 Shit 3 Shit 4 The list goes on and on. I've flagged the videos and explained to Youtube how this is a violation of rights of all those people mentioned in the tags. The videos are yet to be removed or at least edited though

First off, I love you taking on Dark Willow's persona, XiuFang!
Second, I agree that bashing anyone's beliefs is wrong. However, we do still have free speech. I can't condone the apparent witch hunt about Scientology. Three are many thngs I don't like. My ex and I used to argue about groups like the KKK and neo-nazis. His dad was the area ACLU president. My ex's stance was different from his dad's -- that the KKK (as an example) have no right to exist or to spew their hatred. I disagreed. I may hate what smeone has to say but I'll defend their right to say it. As long as it is only words -- everyone has the right to say what they think. Having exercised my constitutional right, heh --- I agree that those videos (I only watched one all the way through) are stupid and biased. |

First of all, I'm not upset at all by anyone. There was NOTHING wrong with posting this thread or in it, it just opened a door that I felt needs to be
closed. So in a way, I'm thankful for this being posted.
I've received some feedback on the subject of this thread (the subject being Scientology) and due to past discussions that have gone into territory that is a tad more contentious than I'm comfortable with on this board (or The LoVe Shack -- where it happened as well), I'm locking this thread and am instituting a new rule: The Scientology Rule. Jason Dohring is a Scientologist. Yes. This is disturbing to some people and it's simply more fun to focus on the other aspects of Jason than his religion; for others it is not an issue. However, because it is an issue for some and because the hope is to make this a welcoming community to all, we feel it is best to leave the discussion of Scientology off-board for the most part. After all, 'A-Dohring Crowd' is dedicated to Jason Dohring, the actor and not his religious beliefs, therefore I'm going to ask that we refrain from discussing Scientology-related matters unless it has a direct bearing on his acting.We all love Jason here, but not all of us love Scientology; in fact, in some cases it's the reverse. So in order to keep this fun-loving Jason community all about loving Jason as opposed to controversy about his choice in religion, let's just keep all such related commentary off the board. If you have any issues with this rule, feel free to ezmail me and we can discuss it. Thank you |
