This really sucks since Joel Silver told the cast not to book any new work. It would be one thing if the writing was on the wall, then the actors could start auditioning for things, but they were give (false) hope that the show would be coming back. That's not right.
Yeah, that was unfortunate. I am not blaming him too much, though, because he was deceived himself. The network as good as told him the show will be picked up. All the out-of-the-blue money wars are a recent and unexpected development. Also, he had told the actors this not that long ago. Certainly at that point they were too late going out for new pilots. However, if they had turned down movie offers in that time, then that just plain sucks.
I am so very sad right now, I can't even talk about it.
It also sucks (no pun), as the author pointed out, that Moonlight is realistically the only casualty.
Shark doesn't count. It's been all but cancelled for a long time.
