Wow. That is a detailed, involved and really pertinent survey! Someone's serious about this site and I recommend that people take the time and do the
survey. I certainly did.
Thank you, finajk! |

I took the survey yeaterday and enjoyed the thoroughness of it. It made me stop to think about my answers and took some time. That's a good thing! :-)
Here's to hoping more people tae it and that the site takes off. Thanks for making this its own thread, Finajk.

You're welcome - I thought that Jason getting his own web site sorted was important!

I took the survey over the weekend and, no lie, it took me almost 45mins. to complete it. I really thought about my answers and tried to be as specific as
possible.
I hope this survey helps to get JD's site up and running with a ton of great stuff. One question stuck out from the others --- What do you want from Jason Dohring? I thought that was as strange question to ask a bunch of strangers in a public arena like the web. Note: I took the high road and refrained from being perv-y in my answer. How many others can say the same??? LOL! I would love to see the answers they get from this survey.

I had to take a moment and tell myself not to answer the first thing that popped into my head with that one, too. LOL. I think what they actually meant by the question was: considering this would be THE site affiliated with him officially, how much interaction and involvement would we expect from Jason? In other words, beyond signed photos and "thank you for your kind words," is there a degree of involvement that's expected. At least that's what I was answering. LOL. Oh, and "I want from Jason Dohring to be back on my screen as soon as possible." |

I filled this out too. Not very cleverly but the intent was there. In one of his recent appearances, he said he had hired a guy to do this and I wanted to
support his site. I also linked it at tv.com. I hope he gets his next gig very soon but at least here we can go find out what is officially up!. I hope
everybody does this survey for Jason!

LOL. I had to take a moment and tell myself not to answer the first thing that popped into my head with that one, too. LOL.I answered that question a little differently, Jane. I, too, did a slight double take and quickly relaized that what I, personally, want from JD is no one's business but my own! |

Thanks for the link Finajk, it was a very well thought out survey and I think I spent the guts of an hour taking so that I could give well thought out answers.
It would be cool to see an official site that had some great content and JD news.
I didn't realise until I was taking the survey how few official celebrity sites I actually visit. The question that asked to name the celebrity sites I visit, I could actually only think of one, I realised then that all the sites I visit are actually fan site because most of the celebrities I would be interested either don't have an official site or the fansites have more information and care put into them than the official one. It was an odd little moment that made me really proud of Jason for surveying his fans about this. |

In fact, I can't remember if I ever visited an official site for any celebrity. For the same reasons you already mentioned. A lot of them are not updated regularly enough, and don't have the content that's amassed in fan sites. It was an odd little moment that made me really proud of Jason for surveying his fans about this. This actually gives me hope. Knowing Jason, the fact that he's hired someone to do this means he is more serious about his career and at least a bit more diligent about promoting himself. Finally. If anything, he tends to shy away from self-promotion and prefers hanging in the back. And the publicist that he has (had?) is someone he employed for a long time and wouldn't trade for a more efficient one. Which makes Jason a good and kind person, but, unfortunately, a badly promoted actor in the town that simply rests on promotion. Sigh. So, again, knowing that this is not a vanity project (JD seems to have very little vanity, really), the fact that he actually went and hired someone to do this properly, to ask all these questions, to go about it competently and professionally, is a good sigh, I think. Here's to hoping he has a better team in place that will lead to many good parts. Fingers firmly crossed, of course. |

My God was that a long freaking survey. Hmmm..so I was expecting the question "What do you want from Jason?" and didn't realize until after the
fact that "If you could have any one thing from Jason what would you most treasure?" must have been that question. A very strange question indeed,
but not one where I think my anticipated answer (to see him in new roles) would have actually been appropriate. I ended up writing "a personal note or
conversation" because really that is what I would most treasure from any number of people whose work I enjoy. What that has to do with a website is the
strange part (I guess it could apply to the proposed contests or merchandise, although those are things I don't particularly care about).
Like most of you, I don't really visit celebrity sites. Do many actors even have their own sites? The only ones I could think of was rickygervais.com and then websites of bands (quasi-celebrities, i suppose). The big difference is that for these people the websites are a major marketing tool for getting audiences to buy their work, which doesn't really apply to actors. Naturally a lot more work and resources are put into those sites. While more than one question threw me for a loop, I was impressed by the list of possible content for the website. I do wish I could have commented on why I thought certain things didn't belong on an official site. I know a lot of official sites have message boards but I'd much prefer this message board to one on an official site. Anyway, if jasondohring.com ends up with a giant photo of Jason's head on the main page you will know they have NOT taken my advice. |

My mind didn't move into pervert territory with that one question, about what do I want from him.
It didn't. I mean it! Honestly. I swear! I kept it very professional, mentioned mostly his career and said that I didn't see the need on personal stuff about him or his family. The only tricky one for me was the word to describe JD. "Bootylicious" was what first came to mind but I ended up going with "mesmerizing" |
