I'm not sure how much help I can be on this either but I'll answer to the best of my memory incase you haven't gotten to go through the transcripts yet.

1 - I can't recall any mention of a name being used, from what I remember Lance just gave orders without saying a name so you could probably name him yourself.

2 - From what I remember of the various deaths on the show, vampires can die by fire and beheading or just breaking the neck. Stakes and silver seem to just paralyze. I think in B.C. whatever liquid Lola was keeping the vampires in killed them as she seemed pretty dead when she landed in it, and if you count them as vampires at that stage - the turning process can kill if it doesn't take.

3 - He never said how he knew him just confirmed that he was powerful and I think he may have been the one to tell the story of his family being involved in the French Revolution.

No problem at all, glad to help. If it's any use I think there has been some fanwanking that Josef was involved in the French Revolution since he knew Lance and Coraline before Mick and knew of their involvement, I think the general consensus is that he is somehow connected to their family so you could take that angle on it.

If it helps, I've never been a huge stickler for facts in fic, people can twist canon whatever way they want - as long as the characters feel right I'm happy. They didn't delve too much into Josef's past on the show so you have a huge blank canvas to play with, just write what you're happy with. Don't let feeling like you're in over your head overwhelm you, the fact that here asking for details shows that you're putting a lot of effort into this fic so I'm sure it will come out great.
