I for one will be eagerly awaiting it, thanks for what you've shared so far and apologies again for phrasing that first comment so badly I hope Mariah wasn't offended by it, I actually got what she meant when she said it was weird, I just put my reply in a really wrong way.

As I look through the pictures that I took this weekend, I've come to the conclusion that (1) I have a crap Sony camera or (2) the lighting was really bad at the Q&A event. I'm going w/the lighting. So, in the meantime enjoy this slideshow of 'The Pretty' that Mariah and Chandra put together from this past weekend: A-Dohring Days & Nights at Polaris 2008 . Chandra had a really good camera. :)

Since a lot of recaps have already come in from other sources, I don't want to get repetitive, so here's what I got out of the weekend.

So it all started with the Blastoff Party where you're allowed to mingle with the celebs. After an hour or so, I really thought that Jason was going to be a no-show. After accidently making connections with members of the board of the con, our little group of folks were able to talk to Gareth David-Lloyd of Torchwood and Jason Dohring. Gareth is hot and just really easy to talk to. I've only seen bits and pieces of Torchwood, but after meeting Gareth, I think I'll try to catch up on the show. A bit later Jason appeared at our sides. I know most will think this is when I got all fangirly and gushed over him, but it didn't happen. Yes, I realized that this is Jason Dohring at my side (literally), but there was no part of me that wanted to melt into a puddle of speechlessness. That's not a slight towards Jason, but I think it's a positive instead. There's something about him that makes you realize that he's just like any other Joe out there. He is ridiculously sweet and kind and gracious with his time. And you can't help but love him just a little bit more because of it. He mentioned that he would be visiting his nanny who he hadn't seen in a couple years. He auditioned last week for a TV role, but he didn't give more info. He did tell his agent that he was open to any TV or film roles out there. The conversation then turned towards him growing up in Toledo and the recent hardships the city is going through.

I was able to get a press pass and sat in on Jason's press conference Saturday morning. Jason talked about his past roles. He mentioned that he is interested in leading type roles now. When asked about a Moonlight renewal, Jason stated that he was aware of the rumors, but the cast had been informed to go ahead and start moving on. Alex had an audition with an A-list actor (Jason's words not mine). When asked if the writer strike had any effect on the show cancellations, Jason stated that there really couldn't be a comparison because their numbers were steady and therefore didn't think the strike affected that outcome. He's open to any sci-fi role as long as there was substance to the character. He really wasn't able to vocalize what his ideal role would be unfortunately. He hopes to do DVD commentary for Moonlight and is hoping that he and Alex can get together to do so. He hasn't been approached for the Moonlight DVD at this time. He's hoping that there will be extras because there were a lot of cut scenes of Josef. When it was mentioned that he's known to have 'extreme' fans, Jason stated he was given a remote control Ferrari which he promptly crashed into the hotel walls. Apparently the car has a mind of its own and the Doubletree now has red marks on one of its wall all because of Jason.

After the press conference was over, I was sitting in the lobby along with Linda and who should happen to come over? Jason. Again, no squeeing or squealing here. He again was very gracious and wanted to know if we had all of our questions answered. I asked him if he'd like to do comedy and he was very open to the idea. He's interested in theatre down the line, but wants to get into more TV/film roles first. And then he was off once again. Again, and I can't say this enough, but the guy is disgustingly sweet!

At the Q&A, when asked if he would work with RT again, Jason said that he had talked to him and there was mention of a reccurring character on one of his new shows for a 'very bad boy'. When there were no more questions to be asked, someone asked what question he would like to be asked. After a bit of pondering he said something along the lines of 'I don't know, where did you get those shoes'. And sure enough someone asked him. He grinned said that was a good question, thought for a minute and then said 'I got them at a department store.' When asked if he still kept in touch with the VM folks, he said that he obviously talked to RT and KB and often texts her for advice. There were many more questions, but like I've mentioned I don't want to get too repetitive. :)

Mariah was lucky enough to get a one-on-one interview with Jason. I believe her article is going up on Friday. So, when it does come out, I'll be sure to link it for you.
