JD as Logan Echolls or JD as Josef Konstantin? |

Re: Game: This or That - JD edition

Oooh, this is an even better game than the first "this or that." I'd have to choose Logan Echolls. I like Josef and want to see the role expanded so that JD can get into the kind of multi-layered portrayal he can do so well. But, so far, "Moonlight" hasn't offered him that *sigh* and I'm not a fan of the MickBeth romance.
But Logan? Aside from good writing and a good character to start with, Jason made it completely his own. Logan will be remembered for a very long time as one of the best male character ever, In any medium. |

Since Skyroom didn't take the turn asking a question, I'll do it now. Totally stealing! LOL.
And yes, Logan Echolls. If for no other reason that he was such a fully realized character! Josef isn't there yet, not by a long shot. (Fingers crossed, he'll get more play later, and JD can add layers like nobody's business, given the time and opportunity.). Next question: Best JD chemistry: KBell or AlexO'L? |

Re: Game: This or That - JD edition
Quote: Damn, that's a tough one! Both are so good in different ways. Going against conventional wisdom, and based on the "could be's" -- I'm going to say Jd and Alex O'L. And, oops, I missed the follow through. Soooo ... Best JD moment: The First Logan/Veronica kiss or Josef sniffing then drinking from the concubine's arm? |

Re: Game: This or That - JD edition

I wouldn't say it was the best JD moment but out of the two it's always going to be the kiss.
Which investigating duo is going to win: Mick/Josef (f.e. Lola episode) or Veronica/Logan? |

Re: Game: This or That - JD edition

Moving this to main, because it totally belongs there. (If Jason is a part of the topic, it belongs here.) Good game!
Backing up a bit -- my answers -- - Sorry, Josef ... definitely Logan. - JDoh and KBell for chemistry. DEFINITELY. - Josef sniffing then drinking from the concubine's arm. I know I shocked myself, but I had some issues overall with the LoVe first kiss (now the second one -- movin' on -- would have won hands down), and that sniffing/drinking from the concubine was amazingly hot. - Veronica/Logan would win the investigating because Veronica is smarter than Mick (totally is), and Logan is more proactive than Josef and would be trying to do well for Veronica's approval, whereas Josef wouldn't give a shit about Mick's. Logan in the argyle or Josef in the suspenders? |

Re: Game: This or That - JD edition

Josef in the suspenders. I do think he looks cute in those.
And the argyle brings back awful memories of some other guys in VM using it. JD's hair in the first half of S1 (with the highlights) or in the second half of S1 (longer and without the highlights)? |

How I missed this thread yesterday I don't know but I'm definitely getting in on it now lol. So to catch up;
1) Sorry Josef but until you get some more time to develop I'm sticking with Logan. I'm hopeful that Jason will be given the chance to get us to love Josef as much as we did Logan. 2) I'm going to go with JD and KB here too, I love the chemistry with Alex almost as much but the fact that LoVe was a relationship just gives it an extra edge to me. I'm a slave to hot make out scenes lol. 3) The kiss wins for me here, Josef sniffing the drink from the concubines arm was hotter by miles but there's just something I love about the post kiss awkwardness in that balconey scene. 4) I don't know which to go with here, I think I'll go with Logan and Veronica purely because Josef wouldn't really help, he'd play his cards very close to his chest and only give away the information he had to while Logan, as Jennifer said, would be more proactive (even if only to protect Veronica and gain her approval). Also, Logan and Veronica would solve the mystery quicker because Mick would investigate until he found the guilty party while Veronica would do some investigating and then accuse people until she got to the culprit lol. 5) This is a hard one, I hated the suspenders in the first episode but I didn't mind them with that hot shirt in The Mortal Cure. I think the argyle has to win, sure it brings back awful memories of Donut and Piss but damn did Logans arms look hot when he was stretched out along that couch, and it did make Veronica lie flat out on top of him which then led to some very hot fanfic. Yep argyle wins. 6) Definitely the second half, guys with highlighted hair just do not do it for me and also, back to my LoVe fixation, wasn't everything just better in the second half of season 1? lol. Hottest shirtless Josef moment: Sleeping Beauty tending to a gunshot wound or The Mortal Cure post erotic massage? |

Re: Game: This or That - JD edition
Quote: Oh, that's a tough choice! But I'll go with "post erotic massage." We got a great view of his neck and shoulders from the back as well as the awesome chest and arms. :D Hmm. Ok. Emo Logan or Fighting Logan? |
|||

Re: Game: This or That - JD edition
Quote: Fighting Logan. Love that look in his eye. Ok, hottest shirtless Logan moment. Answering the door in just his boxers after Alterna-Prom, or wetsuit half off in Charlie Don't Surf? |

Re: Game: This or That - JD edition
Quote: I'd have to pick answering the door after alterna-prom, He looks sexy and not to mention where his hands are, and I just love his hair. Just leave the bimbo Kendall out. I'm not a fan of the wetsuit look. That's just me. Question: Logan caring for Veronica (s3/ep.7) at the end after her head is shaved) or Josef caring for Sarah? Bonus question b/c I want to know what everyone thinks. Tom Cruise, David Arquette, or Jason Dohring in the white shirt, underwear and socks scene for Risky Business. |
|||
skyroom80 |
Re: Game: This or That - JD edition
Quote: Logan caring for Veronica. For me, no contest. Still makes me get teary-eyed thinking about how he found her and the expressions on his face as he realized what had happened. With Josef, there was no real history with Sarah. She was a like a cut out figure. No emotional resonance. Quote: JASON DOHRING! I've never been a fan of Tom Cruise. David Arquette is okay .. but. Nope. JD in the shirt, socks and no pants? Works on every level. Q: Logan with Hannah or Logan with Kendall? |
|||
JaneDtwo |
Re: Game: This or That - JD edition

Oy, skyroom, you ask a painful question. Sigh. Could "neither" be the answer? LOL.
If one is forced to pick between two relationships where Logan is using the other person, then I'll go with Hannah. If he can be excused at all, there is a reason for his actions here. While his thing with Mrs. Casablancas was pure self-indulgence with a dash of self-loathing. And, to his credit, he did tell Hannah the truth. Also, from a purely superficial standpoint, JD had chemistry with Jessy Schramm he did not have with Charisma Carpenter. CC is a better actress, btw, but, oddly enough, the spark just wasn't there. Okay, eeek, moving on! Logan to the rescue: Camelot Motel or The Neptune Grand rooftop? |
|||
skyroom80 |
Re: Game: This or That - JD edition
Quote: I agree. Well with the dubious exception of the great quote from Logan when Trina met Kendall, "'Rode hard' meet 'put away wet.'" But, yes, Hannah was an innocent girl and I think Logan, besides going after her father, was desperate for someone to feel close to. Everyone, at that point, seemed to have abandoned him. Quote: Talk about tough choices, JaneD! But, for me, it's the rooftop scene. Logan had grown and had the maturity to be there for Veronica in a way he could not have been before. Logan's Xterra or Logan's Range Rover? |
|||
stephanierb |
Re: Game: This or That - JD edition
Quote: As obnoxious as the color was, definitely the "Sexterra". I realized I never answered the others... - Logan over Josef - KB over AOL - Josef drinking from the concubine - Veronica/Logan investigating - Josef in the suspenders - Second half hair - Josef post massage - Definitely Logan in boxers post Alterna-prom - Logan caring for Veronica - Logan with Hannah, there was some genuine feeling there - Logan on the Neptune Grand Rooftop - he almost got shot himself Best non-LoVE Logan relationship - Logan and Duncan or Logan and Weevil (before the writers made Weevil get amnesia in S3) |
|||
JDKB143 |
Re: Game: This or That - JD edition
Quote: I'd pick Logan and Weevil, I loved everything about them together. Whether their fighting, snarking,trying to protect Veronica, or helping eachother. I just love them. I only liked L/D in flashbacks of the homecoming. Besides what was up with Weevil in S3. Question: Logan and Dick as BFF's or Josef and Mick as BFF's? |
|||

Re: Game: This or That - JD edition

Playing catch up again lol.
Even though I haven't seen that scene Logan caring for Veronica still wins, seeing Sarah in a coma and silent flashback just wasn't enough to make me care (although JD was amazing in that episode). I'm torn, Tom Cruise deserves props for originating the look but I think Logan wins because the context it was done in made it heartbreaking as well as hilarious. Logan with Hannah definitely, I like CC but Kendall was just too despicable to want Logan near her. At least with Hannah there was a sort of excusable purpose to the relationship. Talk about hard questions Jane. The Camelot was great because I knew nothing of the show and on first viewing that was totally unexpected but the rooftop, I dont know, it meant more because of their history and so much more was going on that it came across more mature, like he was really deciding to be there for her. Yeah the rooftop wins. The Xterra, I used to work in a Land Rover/Range Rover dealership and Irish people who drive those cars - self important a***oles. I'm now compelled to hate anyone who drives them lol. Logan and Weevil hands down, refer to any other thread that has given me the chance to gush about Francis for reasons why lol. I just loved every scene those two had together. Hard question JDKB143, I actually really liked Logan and Dick in season 1 but I think Josef and Mick has to win. Dick was entertaining enough but it was always in the back of my mind that he offered Veronica up to Beaver and that was just unforgiveable. Just for Jennifer And because I really want to answer, Movin' On kiss for me, I just thought it was way hotter and the dialogue beforehand was great. |

Re: Game: This or That - JD edition

Ooh, I love my question!!! Okay, playing catch-up ...
Quote:Second half of season one, definitely. "A Trip to the Dentist" and "Leave it to Beaver" was my favorite Logan-hair. Quote:Definitely tending to the gunshot wound if only because I HATED the shot of Josef's face as he was getting massaged. Why anyone ever shoots an attractive actor from that angle *unless it's specifically done for humor* is beyond me because it makes the actor look horrible, and that tainted the rest of the scene for me. Aside from that, Jason just looked really hot during the "Sleeping Beauty" scene. Quote:Emo Logan because I think snarling Logan (which ALWAYS accompanies Fighting Logan) is not the most attractive trait ever. Gah, I know, I'm so shallow. LOL! Quote:No contest. Logan caring for Veronica, we had 45 episodes with which to experience the Logan/Veronica relationship as opposed to a handful of scenes -- brief at that -- of the Josef/Sarah relationship. No contest. Quote:NOT a Tom Cruise fan, and well, I don't care either way about DA, so even if Jason didn't totally rock it period, he'd win by default. Quote:Ugh. My answer? Neither. But if I have to choose, Kendall simply because it DID mean nothing at all. I still maintain he didn't fall for Hannah, but more the "idea" of someone actually putting him up on a pedestal (the way Veronica did so with Duncan) rather than the girl herself, but there were still feelings there. Logan's relationship with Kendall all about Logan and his pain over Veronica, the thing with Hannah did become something more (about her or the idea or not) and the shipper-girl in me just can not vote for that. So Kendall it is. Quote:This is another no contest for me, LOVED the X-Terra, loved it, loved it, loved it. SO Logan. The Range Rover? Blah. Quote:Honestly? I have a different answer for each season. Season 1, Logan/Duncan ... Duncan's best scenes were with Logan and they were good ones. There was an interestingly complex dynamic to their relationship and I BOUGHT them as best friends which of course dissipated in season two and that leads to ... Logan and Weevil DEFINITELY in season two. The back and forth, the snark, the sniping, the awesome, bad-ass, sexually-charged (what!?!) bathroom brawl. Logan and Weevil all the way in season two. Quote:Josef and Mick definitely. I never actually bought Logan/Dick as BFF's no matter how often they said it. Logan always *always* seemed slightly contemptuous of Dick and like he felt sorry for his pathetic stupidity. Sure he liked him, but he wasn't someone he could truly confide in, someone he truly felt was a friend of his heart. I buy that about Josef and Mick in a handful of episodes as opposed to the three seasons (more s2 and s3 though) of Logan/Dick. Quote:. I do wish it was lighted better but the Movin' on kiss is to me just the sexiest, romantic, overall best kiss they EVER shared. It was just tingly. |

Re: Game: This or That - JD edition

I didn't realize I got a shot at all of the questions, so here goes:
Logan or Josef: Logan, of course! I like Josef a lot but he hasn't been given enough to make it a stand out ... yet. But, Logan? Simply the best male character on TV since, well -- no one else comes even close. Best JD moment: The First Logan/Veronica kiss or Josef sniffing then drinking from the concubine's arm?: The concubine. It just gets to me. Extremely hot and gives the first hint of Josef's personality. Logan in the argyle or Josef in the suspenders?: Suspenders! Don't care if it adds a Larry King look, it beats the argyle every time. JD's hair in the first half of S1 (with the highlights) or in the second half of S1 (longer and without the highlights): Second half. Longer and without the highlights. Especially in the last S1 episode as he's confronting Veronica on the beach. Emo Logan or Fighting Logan?: Emo Logan. Much as I love him in prior or post fighting mode, no one can do the emoting as Logan did. As evidence: Logan at the end of S3's second to last episode and carried into the final episode. Post fight, yes. But the emotion was heartbreakingly good. Answering the door in just his boxers after Alterna-Prom, or wetsuit half off in Charlie Don't Surf?: Charlie don't Surf. Oh, yeah! Both were good. but the surfer shirtless Logan? Again, oh yeah! Logan's Xterra or Logan's Range Rover?: The Xterra!! Bright yellow, damn-your-eyes, and just sexy. Logan and Duncan or Logan and Weevil: Logan and Weevil. I love those two together! Logan and Dick as BFF's or Josef and Mick as BFF's: Josef and Mick. It's much more equal. And there's a chemistry between them that Logan and Dick just never shared. Camelot kiss or Movin' On kiss?: Movin' On kiss!!!!!!!! Hmm, were the !!'s enough? And: Best villain: Aaron Echolls or Cassidy Casablancas? |
|||
XiuFang |
Re: Game: This or That - JD edition
Quote: You know, he didn't snarl during the Gory-pounding. That's character growth for you About the last question: Cassidy "Beaver" Casablancas was the best villain. He killed more people and Aaron had just awful hair. Also Aaron made Logan and that is a really good deed On the above note: Logan tossing Gory over the table ![]() Logan punching Gory ![]() or Logan literally kicking Gory's ass?
|
|||
daria103 |
Re: Game: This or That - JD edition
|
Damn good question Skyroom. I kind of have two answers, Aaron was brilliant in a pantomime (I just can't think of a better word) villain kind of way you know. He had a nice guy outer persona and then was pure badness underneath, but from the moment he set foot on screen I knew he wasn't a good guy he had a total creepy vibe going on all the time.
Cassidy was a great villain because you just didn't expect it, I had a total WTF moment in Not Pictured, and there was layers and layers of messed up going on behind the villain stuff. Not that the messed up excused any of his actions but it kind of made it all the more tragic. Although thinking about it now, they both did what they did for exactly the same reasons, to protect their public image and secrets. So now all my rambling is done, I think I'll pick Cassidy because he played the part of the innocent so much better than Aaron, Aaron let his creepy side show through a lot. Cassidy, you never would have known (although that may largely be due to the fact that he didn't know until Kyle got his last script lol). Logan literally kicking Gory's ass, definitely. Ok further feeding my only non LoVe related obsession lol; Logan and Weevil as enemies circa season 1 or grudging truce/partnership circa season 2? |
