I loved reading this not simply because it's a very interesting analysis of the character and his motivations, but also simply because it makes me happy that people feel compelled to analyse the character in the first place. And do it so well and in such thoughtful detail.

Really liked that observation. Considering what little screen time the character had, I do believe we got to see layers and motivation beyond the purely selfish. And it's been both written and played by JD that way.
